Meat Manager — Trade Fair Supermarket Pay: $25–$30 per hour Location: Trade Fair Supermarkets (Queens, NY) Schedule: Full-time; 24/7 stores — nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Summary Run the private butcher shop: fresh product, custom cuts (including halal), staffing, food safety, and sales. Keep cases full and appealing, control shrink, and deliver strong customer service.
Duties
<ul>
<li>Supervise meat wrappers, cutters, and department staff; set schedules and train the team</li>
<li>Oversee cutting, wrapping, pricing, merchandising, and case presentation</li>
<li>Order product, manage inventory, rotate stock, and control shrink and labor</li>
<li>Enforce food-safety, sanitation, labeling, and temperature standards</li>
<li>Handle customer requests, custom cuts, and complaints</li>
<li>Meet sales, quality, and cleanliness goals set by store leadership</li>
</ul>
Requirements
<ul>
<li>Proven meat-department or butcher-shop experience; supervisory experience preferred</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of meat cuts, yields, dating, and food safety</li>
<li>Ability to lead a team, work a fast-paced 24/7 store, and lift up to 50 lbs</li>
<li>Flexible availability; halal/international product knowledge a plus</li>
