About the Role:
Neurosurgical Associates P.C. is looking for a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our practice in Henrico, VA 23233. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated medical team where your attention to detail and patient-first attitude will make a real difference every day. It is a full time position working Monday through Friday with work hours of 8:30 a.m., to 5:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch break taken daily.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Answer and route incoming phone calls, taking messages and responding to inquiries
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service
- Maintain and update accurate patient records.
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with other healthcare providers as needed
- Ensure the front desk and waiting area remain organized and welcoming
Requirements:
- Prior experience (1 to 2 years) as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare front office setting preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical scheduling software
- Knowledge of medical insurance verification and billing procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
- High school diploma
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented work ethic
