Opportunity for Fellowship-Trained Hand Surgeon
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
Our organization is in search of a fellowship-trained Upper Extremity/Hand Surgeon to enhance our expanding Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. This is a remarkable chance to engage in a collaborative academic setting dedicated to outstanding patient care, education, and research.
Become a part of a vibrant academic team at our academic pavilion and develop a high-volume hand and upper extremity practice within a Level I Trauma Center, backed by a robust referral network and cutting-edge technology.
We seek a driven surgeon who is enthusiastic about working in a university-based environment alongside a skilled team of Hand Surgeons. This position offers a well-rounded blend of clinical practice and academic involvement, with the flexibility to enhance research initiatives based on personal interests.
Practice Overview:
- Part of an academic orthopedic surgery group affiliated with a medical school
- 90% Clinical / 10% Academic Role with potential for increased research participation
- Practice within a Level I Trauma Center
- Access to satellite outpatient clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
- Dedicated support from Advanced Practice Providers focused on hand surgery
- Utilization of advanced technology and a strong referral network

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in hand and upper extremity surgery at a Level I Trauma Center
- Conduct surgical procedures for hand and upper extremity
- Engage in outpatient clinics and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC)
- Participate in teaching, mentoring, and academic activities with medical students and residents
- Involve in research and scholarly activities (with optional expansion)
- Share in hand surgery call coverage
Qualifications:
- MD or DO is required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
- Completion of a Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Missouri
