About the Role

Kinkelder is a leading supplier of industrial circular saw blades to steel producers, forging operations, metal service centers, and tube and pipe manufacturers. Our Pell City facility manufactures carbide-tipped blades and provides sales and service for carbide-tipped, HSS, and band saw blades across the region.

We are hiring a General Manager to lead the branch commercially and own its results. This is a sales leadership role as well as branch management: you will spend most of your time with customers and prospects, keeping the branch full and growing, and the rest managing its margins and its team. Day-to-day production is led by an experienced shop supervisor and supported by corporate operations, so your focus stays on the market.

What You’ll Do

● Commercial (~80%). Most of your time goes to customers and prospects. The balance between the two areas below shifts with what the branch needs at the time.

○ Account management. Retain and grow the existing customer base, support designated national accounts at the branch level, implement price increases fully and on time, and build the customer forecast that drives branch staffing and stocking.

○ Business development. Win new accounts and open markets the national sales team is not covering, with the goal of filling branch capacity with profitable work. Lead cost-per-cut and value-based conversations and run structured trials.

● Branch management (~20%). Own the branch P&L and margins, including budget, inventory, and receivables. Evaluate lost and slow-moving customers to find the real cause and decide on recovery. Lead the branch team through its shop supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

Required

● A proven B2B industrial sales record in both account management and new business development

● Margin and P&L awareness — evaluate and protect margin and read a P&L

● Experience leading or managing people

● Can build technical credibility with plant managers, maintenance leads, and purchasing

● Willingness to travel within the territory

Preferred

● Cutting tool, saw blade, industrial distribution, or service center background

● End-market familiarity: tube and pipe, forging, steel, or metal service centers

● Experience with budgeting, inventory, and working capital

● ERP and CRM experience — Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred

You’ll do well here if you

● Build demand rather than wait for it, and hold price under pressure

● Figure out why a customer is slipping before reaching for a discount

● Develop new business through Proof of Performance and documenting added value

Compensation & Benefits

● Competitive pay range based on experience

● Annual performance bonus tied to branch profitability and operational results. This is a leadership role, not a commissioned sales position — the bonus rewards the performance of the whole branch

● Pay range $100K - $130K

● Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, HRA, FSA, company-paid life insurance, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability, Aflac supplemental insurance, Vehicle allowance, and a 401(k)—contribute 5% and receive a 4% company match.

● 10 paid holidays, front-loaded PTO to help you enjoy your time off sooner!
