Capital Brand Group, LLC (CBG) is hiring two (2) Maintenance Electricians — one (1) for the San Diego Sector and one (1) for the El Centro Sector — to support our federal Building Maintenance & Operations contract with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Location: San Diego, CA or El Centro, CA — assigned sector facilities

Openings: 2 total — one (1) in the San Diego Sector, one (1) in the El Centro Sector

Pay Rate: $36.34/hour (full-time, non-exempt, SCA-covered)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with on-call rotation for emergency response

Reports To: Sector Service Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment across CBP facilities in your assigned sector — including power distribution, lighting, generators, grounding systems, and associated controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems, distribution equipment, lighting, generators, and controls in accordance with the approved PM Guide, NFPA 70/70E, and applicable codes

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions; restore systems to normal operating condition

- Correct deficiencies identified during PM prior to leaving the job site

- Support certification and permitting programs for electrical-related assets including generators, lightning protection systems, ground loop megger testing, hoists and cranes, vehicle lifts, and fuel systems

- Respond to Emergency, Urgent, and Routine service calls within contract-required timeframes

- Document all work in TRIRIGA via government-provisioned mobile device, including parts used, time on site, and CBP verification

- Coordinate outages and disruptive work with the facility manager and COR in advance

- Follow lockout/tagout, arc flash, and all applicable OSHA electrical safety requirements

- Immediately report any potential safety or hazardous condition

- Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and test equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Qualified journeyman electrician, or comparable training, experience, and ability

- California Electrician Certification (General Electrician or comparable) required

- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E

- Sound mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to read and interpret schematics, one-line diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer data

- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable CBP Background Investigation

- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record

- Ability to work in outdoor desert and coastal conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, and to lift up to 50 lbs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Generator maintenance and load bank testing experience

- Building automation, fire alarm, or security systems experience

- Solar power system experience

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

- Prior federal facilities maintenance experience

- Bilingual English/Spanish

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Must wear company uniform with permanently or semi-permanently affixed company identification, plus government-furnished badge, no later than ten (10) working days after entering on duty

- Must observe all CBP security protocols at every facility; failure results in immediate removal from site

- Personnel without final favorable CBP BI adjudication must be escorted at all times by a badged employee

SECURITY REQUIREMENT

All positions require the ability to obtain and maintain a favorable CBP Background Investigation. Candidates will complete the Background Investigation Requirements Determination (BIRD) document and a Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) authorization form. Employment is contingent on successful pre-employment screening, including county, national, and federal criminal database searches and drug screening. Employees may begin work while the BI is in process but must be escorted at all times by a badged employee until final favorable adjudication. Any employee whose BI is placed on hold or returns unfavorable will be removed from the contract until a favorable determination is obtained.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed at CBP-owned and leased facilities across Southern California, including Border Patrol stations, checkpoints, ports of entry, and firing ranges. Government normal duty hours are Monday through Friday, 0700–1600. No work is scheduled on federal holidays. Emergency situations — service disruptions, unscheduled outages, contingency incidents — may require work outside normal duty hours.

COMPENSATION NOTE

Positions identified as SCA-covered are compensated in accordance with the applicable Service Contract Act Wage Determination for Southern California, including the required health and welfare fringe benefit, paid vacation, and paid holidays.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
