The Department of Radiology at our Medical School is in search of an exceptional academic pediatric radiologist to take on the role of Director of Pediatric Ultrasound. This is a remarkable opportunity for leadership aimed at enhancing a nationally recognized pediatric radiology division within one of the leading children's hospitals in the United States. The position is based on-site at our Children's Hospital.

  • The Director will offer visionary leadership in clinical, academic, and operational aspects for the Pediatric Ultrasound Section within the Pediatric Radiology Division, which comprises over 17 pediatric radiologists and 2 advanced practice providers.
  • This role includes overseeing pediatric ultrasound services across our Children's Hospital, Magee Women's Hospital (a primary delivery facility with a Level III NICU), and associated regional sites that provide pediatric imaging. The Director will spearhead initiatives to standardize practices, enhance quality and patient safety, and boost operational efficiency throughout the network.
  • A primary focus will be on fostering innovation in pediatric ultrasound, including leading the development and clinical integration of cutting-edge technologies such as elastography, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, super-resolution imaging, and applications of artificial intelligence.
  • The Director will also actively engage in the department's academic mission by:
    • Delivering high-quality clinical care
    • Leading educational programs, including workstation teaching and didactic sessions for residents and fellows
    • Mentoring trainees and junior faculty
    • Supporting technologist education in advanced ultrasound techniques
    • Enhancing multidisciplinary clinical collaborations
  • The ideal candidate will be instrumental in promoting excellence in clinical care, innovation, and scholarship within the division.

Qualifications:

  • MD, DO, or an equivalent medical degree
  • Board certification in Radiology
  • Fellowship training and/or subspecialty certification (or eligibility) in Pediatric Radiology
  • Appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, based on experience
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong track record in clinical excellence, academic productivity, and teaching
