Cleanroom Laundry Job Description
Bledsoe Construction is looking for a cleanroom laundry person. This role will combine the responsibilities of a laundry worker with the strict environmental and safety standards of a cleanroom environment. This position ensures that all laundry items are processed in a controlled, contamination-free setting while maintaining high hygiene and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Sort linens, towels, clothing, and other textiles by color, size, and material to ensure correct washing and drying.
- Wash, dry, and fold items using commercial laundry equipment, following sanitization and contamination control protocols specific to cleanroom standards
- Transport clean and dirty laundry within the cleanroom or to designated areas, ensuring no cross-contamination
- Operate and maintain laundry and steam cleaning equipment, keeping them clean and in good working order.
- Stock and manage laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, fabric softener, and laundry bags
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or contamination before and after processing, ensuring they meet cleanroom quality requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all cleanroom safety, GMP, and ISO/FDA standards
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or science background preferred
Experience: Prior laundry or housekeeping experience; familiarity with cleanroom or sterile environments is a plus
Skills: Attention to detail, ability to follow strict protocols, knowledge of laundering techniques, and understanding of contamination control
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and work in a controlled environment
