Position Title: Landlord–Tenant Litigation Attorney
Location: Houston, Texas – Galleria Area
Experience Level: Minimum of 4 Years Practicing Law
Position Summary:
A distinguished law firm located in the Houston Galleria area is seeking a seasoned Landlord–Tenant Litigation Attorney to join its established real estate and landlord–tenant practice group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate substantial experience in high-volume litigation, including matters involving evictions, ADA compliance, mold and habitability claims, and cases arising from tenant fatalities. This role requires a litigation attorney who exercises sound judgment, maintains exemplary professionalism, and is adept at managing a demanding caseload with efficiency and precision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all phases of landlord–tenant disputes, including eviction proceedings and complex litigation.
- Handle matters involving ADA-related claims, premises integrity issues, mold allegations, and investigations related to tenant deaths.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, legal memoranda, and correspondence with a high degree of accuracy.
- Conduct hearings, trials, mediations, and other court appearances throughout the Greater Houston area.
- Provide comprehensive legal analysis and strategic counsel to clients on a broad range of landlord–tenant issues.
- Collaborate proactively with attorneys and professional staff within a team-oriented practice group.
- Maintain organized case management practices while navigating a high-volume docket.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in landlord–tenant litigation, real estate litigation, or closely related areas.
- Demonstrated courtroom experience and comfort handling frequent court appearances.
- Exceptional legal writing, advocacy, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and an aptitude for managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with clients, courts, and colleagues.
