What will I do?

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections in line with FMCSA inspection guidelines.
  • Diagnose and complete unscheduled repairs on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision.
  • Record all work on work orders and inspection forms, ensuring parts are charged to the correct unit.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work bay.
  • Perform minor body work.
  • Assist with training for Level 1 technicians.
  • Support other tasks as assigned by management.

What experience do I need?

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred; CDL preparation is a plus.
  • 1–2 years in commercial tractor/trailer maintenance (minimum 1 year).
  • Preferred: A degree in Diesel Mechanics.

  • Comfort with shop management systems and basic computer tools.

  • Proven under pressure; able to juggle multiple demands.

What are the physical demands?

  • Regular: standing, walking, handling tools, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing.
  • Frequent: sitting; climbing or balancing.
  • Occasional: smelling.
  • Lifting: up to 100 lbs routinely; frequently more than 100 lbs.
  • Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception.

Where will I be working?

  • Regular exposure to humidity, moving parts, and elevated work areas.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes/airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme heat/cold, vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals.
  • Very loud noise at times.
