Location: Tampa, FL 33613
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 5 Months
Pay Range: 19.85/Hour - 21.26/Hour
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Phlebotomist I is responsible for performing blood collections, specimen processing, and patient registration activities while ensuring accuracy, quality, and excellent customer service. The role requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Duties:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, pediatric, and geriatric blood collections and prepare specimens for testing.
- Verify patient information, ensure accurate specimen labeling, and maintain required documentation.
- Provide professional and compassionate patient care while explaining collection procedures.
- Process clinical and forensic specimens following established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Maintain a safe and professional environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 months' experience REQUIRED. One(+) years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and data entry skills.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between work locations.
