Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney based in Pasadena, CA, with flexibility for remote work from home. The attorney will manage a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters, including case evaluation, legal research, and drafting pleadings, discovery, and motion practice. Day-to-day responsibilities include appearing at depositions, conferences, and hearings, negotiating settlements, and advising clients on claim exposure, risk management, and litigation strategy. The role involves regular communication with claims professionals, employers, and other stakeholders to provide case updates and recommendations. The attorney will also be expected to maintain accurate file documentation, meet court and administrative deadlines, and contribute to firm best practices and procedures.

Qualifications

- Experience with Insurance, Claims Handling, and Claims Management in a workers’ compensation or related defense environment.
- Knowledge of Employee Benefits and their interaction with workers’ compensation and employer obligations.
- Strong Customer Service and client relationship skills, including responsiveness, clear communication, and professionalism.
- Active California Bar license in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience in workers’ compensation litigation, including hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
- Comfort with legal practice management software and standard office technologies.
- Commitment to ethical practice, collaboration with colleagues, and ongoing professional development.

Salary Range

$150,000 to $200,000.00 depending on experience.
