The Mission
The mission of the Quality Engineer is to play a pivotal role in product testing, supplier quality and vendor development, manufactured product quality, and the evaluation and resolution of manufacturing or supplier product issues related to steel manufacturing and ground control solutions.\n

\nJoining our dynamic team in Pittsburgh, PA, the successful candidate will conduct laboratory testing, drive product and vendor development, and work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality teams to ensure manufactured and purchased products meet all technical requirements.\n

Scope of Impact

- Laboratory Testing & Analysis: Perform lab testing and organization tasks promptly with guidance from Engineering. Apply engineering principles to perform accurate calculations, analyses, and determine necessary tools for testing setups.
- Product & Material Evaluation: Assist with lab testing of manufactured or purchased products. Understand product drawings, specifications, material requirements, and interpret specification requirements from regulatory or industry standards.
- Technical Communication & Reporting: Prepare emails and reports to properly convey the technical requirements for purchased or manufactured parts, alongside technical reporting of lab testing results. Support the creation and organization of technical documents.
- Vendor Quality & Development: Participate in vendor auditing and communication to facilitate the purchasing of quality products, assisting the Purchasing department with vendor development regarding technical requirements and testing.
- Quality Audits & Operations: Assist in quality audits and testing of products as assigned. Utilize or learn to use lab machines (such as tensile and hardness testers) and set them up depending on the test type. Determine proper test fixturing for industry-standard testing or part evaluations.
- Sample Preparation & Lab Management: Prepare samples for testing using saws, shears, bench grinders, mills, and grinders as needed. Maintain the organization of the lab and storage for incoming parts, and assist with a system for sample part retention by part type and supplier.

\n Education & Experience Requirements\n

\n Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or an Equivalent Relevant Discipline (Mechanical or Material Science Engineering preferred)- .Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience is a plus
- .Technical Proficiencies: Ability to understand drawings or models created with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor
