Duration: 14 Weeks - Contract (NO BENEFITS)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rates:

Local Candidates: $1,200–$1,400 per week

Travel Candidates: $1,600–$1,850 per week

Position Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide patient care in an outpatient acute-care setting within the Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will have relevant ED experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work with minimal orientation and supervision.
The LPN will support physicians and clinical staff with patient preparation, vital signs, injections, procedures, IV placement, phlebotomy, and administrative coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Greet patients, direct them to examination rooms, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.

Obtain, record, and monitor patient vital signs.

Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during examinations and clinical procedures.

Prepare trays and equipment for injections and other procedures.

Administer injections as directed and within the scope of the LPN license.

Assist with Pap tests and other clinical procedures.

Perform IV placement and phlebotomy.

Contact insurance companies to obtain required authorizations.

Coordinate referrals from primary care physicians.

Maintain clean, organized, and properly equipped examination rooms and clinical areas.

Document patient information and clinical activities accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Follow established clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and infection-control procedures.

Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
Required Education
- LPN diploma from an accredited or recognized nursing program.
Required Licensure & Certifications

Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Must be able to obtain or renew CPR certification as required.

Must provide current New York State LPN license documentation.
Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Previous Emergency Department (ED) experience is required.

Ability to perform IV placement and phlebotomy.

Strong patient assessment and clinical support skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal orientation and supervision.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in an inpatient healthcare setting.

Experience working in an acute-care environment.

Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

Experience assisting with examinations, injections, and other clinical procedures.
