Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Location: Vincennes, IN and Surrounding Areas

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to help lead our clinical team. This role is ideal for a nursing professional who thrives in a supportive environment, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering exceptional resident care.

Position Summary

The ADON supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting clinical staff, and maintaining high standards of resident care.

Rate: $40–$43/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Nursing in managing nursing services and staff.

  • Monitor care delivery for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to nursing team members.

  • Assist with scheduling, staff development, and in-service education.

  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Assist with infection prevention and regulatory compliance activities.

  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing.

  • Promote a positive, resident-centered culture focused on quality outcomes.

  • Participate in the on-call rotation every other week.

Qualifications

  • RN preferred; a strong LPN will be considered.

  • Current Indiana RN or LPN license required.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
