Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage residents in a professional, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.
- Assist residents with daily shelter needs, including appointments, transportation, referrals, and access to community resources.
- Support Case Managers with resident follow-up, documentation, and service coordination.
- Conduct regular wellness and safety checks throughout the shelter.
- Assist with move-ins, move-outs, room assignments, and resident orientation.
- Help residents access benefits and services, including housing, healthcare, public assistance, employment, and other community resources.
- Provide transportation or accompany residents to appointments, agencies, housing sites, and other necessary destinations when required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident interactions, incidents, referrals, and services provided.
- Monitor the facility and report safety concerns, maintenance issues, emergencies, or policy violations to appropriate staff.
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Communicate effectively with Case Managers, Supervisors, security personnel, and other shelter staff.
- Assist with community outreach and resource distribution as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect resident information in accordance with agency policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other program activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or a degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
