About the Role
Are you an experienced paralegal with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for helping families protect their legacies? We are seeking a skilled Estate Planning & Trust Administration Paralegal to join a dynamic, client-focused legal team.
In this role, you will do much more than manage paperworkyou will act as a trusted point of contact for clients, navigating everything from foundational estate plans to complex, high-net-worth trust administration and federal tax matters. Key Responsibilities

Document Drafting: Prepare foundational and sophisticated estate planning documents (including wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives) using industry-leading software like WealthCounsel and Interactive Legal Services (ILS).

Trust & Estate Administration: Manage probate court filings and ensure compliance with all statutory notice requirements.

High-Net-Worth Advisory Support: Assist with complex estate planning strategies for affluent clients, including asset protection, business transfer/succession planning, and irrevocable trusts.

Tax Preparation: Prepare federal estate and gift tax returns (Form706 and 709 ).

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financials, organize supporting documentation, and manage filings with the IRS.

Fiduciary Accounting: Prepare detailed estate and trust accountings in strict accordance with the Michigan Uniform Principal & Income Act.

Client Engagement: Serve as an empathetic and highly professional direct line of communication for clients, keeping them informed and supported throughout the entire legal process.
What Were Looking For

Experience: Proven experience working as a paralegal specializing in estate planning, probate, and trust administration (Michigan law familiarity required).

Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with WealthCounsel and/or Interactive Legal Services (ILS) software is highly preferred.

Tax & Financial Literacy: Strong foundational knowledge of federal estate and gift tax matters, as well as fiduciary accounting principles.

Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle sensitive client matters with the utmost discretion and empathy.

Organizational Superpowers: High attention to detail, strong multi-tasking abilities, and a deadline-driven mindset.
