Job Description
As an Electrician Mechanic, you install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for ground-up warehouse construction projects. You work extensively with conduit and overhead lighting, perform pipe bending up to one inch, and handle both underground and overhead electrical installations. You interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints to complete installations safely and efficiently, and you use scissor lifts and inspection equipment to access and verify work at height while following OSHA 10 safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install and bend electrical conduit and pipe up to one inch for warehouse ground-up construction projects.
- Run, secure, and support overhead pipe and conduit systems throughout the facility.
- Install and maintain underground conduit systems to support power distribution and lighting.
- Install, wire, and mount overhead light fixtures, ensuring proper alignment, support, and connection.
- Wire and configure 3-way switches and other control devices according to wiring diagrams and applicable codes.
- Pull, route, and label wires clearly and accurately to support future maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Install and wire control and panel boxes, including motor controls and associated components.
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan and execute installations and repairs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and circuits to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment to perform installations, adjustments, and quality checks.
- Operate scissor lifts safely to perform overhead work, including installation and inspection of fixtures and conduit.
- Follow OSHA 10 safety practices and site-specific safety procedures at all times.
- Conduct visual and instrument-based inspections of electrical installations to verify proper operation and compliance.
- Collaborate with other trades and team members to coordinate work and maintain project schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with electrical installation in construction environments, including warehouse ground-up projects.
- Proficiency in installing and bending electrical conduit and pipe, including overhead and underground applications.
- Ability to bend pipe and conduit up to one inch using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Strong skills in pulling, routing, and labeling electrical wires in various types of conduit systems.
- Experience wiring control and panel boxes, including motor controls and associated circuitry.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, circuits, and equipment.
- Comfort working at height and performing overhead electrical work, including on scissor lifts.
- Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, and inspection equipment related to electrical work.
- Knowledge of basic electrical codes and safety practices applicable to construction environments.
- OSHA 10 certification, with the ability to apply safety standards consistently on the job.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in commercial or industrial construction environments.
- Familiarity with installing overhead light fixtures in large open spaces.
- Ability to work from and contribute to project plans and layouts.
- Strong attention to detail when labeling wires, documenting work, and verifying connections.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and other trades.
- Reliability in following established procedures and completing tasks on schedule.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
