We’re hiring a hands-on Financial Operations Manager to take broad ownership across finance, accounting, and business operations within a growing SaaS company. This is an individual contributor role and is designed for someone who enjoys being close to the work and wants broad ownership rather than managing a large team.
This is not a traditional accounting role or a traditional FP&A role. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll work across both—owning financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, SaaS metrics and reporting, while also ensuring the company’s accounting, subscription billing, and revenue processes are running effectively.
Because this is a lean organization, you’ll have significant visibility across the business and the opportunity to improve how finance operates through better processes, systems, automation, and AI.
Schedule: We are open to both Full-time (40 hours/week) or reduced Full-time (30 hours/week)
Location & Work Model: This is a remote role; however, candidates must be based in the Austin or San Antonio area and able to commute to South Austin for occasional in-person meetings, approximately once per quarter. We are currently prioritizing candidates who are within reasonable driving distance of Austin.
What You’ll Do
- Own and maintain financial forecasts, budgets, and ongoing financial planning
- Monitor business performance, cash flow, expenses, and key SaaS financial metrics
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to help leadership understand performance and make decisions
- Build and improve financial models, reporting, and management dashboards
- Partner across the organization on financial planning, spending, and business decisions
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, partnering with an external bookkeeping team on monthly close and reporting
- Own or oversee AP, AR, invoicing, vendor payments, and cash management
- Support subscription billing, revenue operations, and ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Manage and improve financial systems, workflows, and integrations
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and software subscriptions
- Support payroll, benefits administration, and employee onboarding/offboarding
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve the way financial information flows through the business
- Use AI and emerging technology to improve analysis, reporting, forecasting, and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on finance and accounting experience, ideally in a role with broad ownership
- At least 2 years of experience within a SaaS or subscription-based business
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
- Meaningful experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial modeling
- Strong enough accounting knowledge to understand financial statements, GAAP, close processes, and how operational activity flows through the financials
- Knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS/subscription revenue recognition
- Experience with subscription billing and revenue management; Chargebee is highly preferred, with Zuora, Maxio, Recurly, Stripe Billing, or similar experience also relevant
- Experience monitoring cash flow and supporting cash planning
- Experience improving financial processes, implementing systems, or automating workflows
- Comfort working with SaaS metrics and translating financial data into useful business insights
- Experience with systems such as Xero, Chargebee, Rippling, Stripe, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated interest in using AI and automation to make finance faster, smarter, and less manual
- Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to take a problem from “this isn't working” through to a solution
- Comfortable operating in a lean environment where responsibilities cross traditional Finance, Accounting, and Operations boundaries
