Position Summary
Hallmark House is seeking a dependable and compassionate On-Call Caregiver to provide support and care to residents when needed. The On-Call Caregiver will be assigned to a 7-day on-call rotation and must be available at all times during their assigned 7-day on-call period to respond when called upon to work.
This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, caring, flexible, and comfortable providing quality care to residents in a supportive home environment.
On-Call Schedule & Compensation
• Caregivers will be assigned to an on-call rotation for 7 consecutive days at a time.
• Caregivers will receive $100 for each 7-day on-call week, whether or not they are called in to work.
• If the caregiver is called in and works during the on-call period, they will be paid $18.00 per hour for all hours worked, in addition to the $100 weekly on-call compensation.
• The caregiver must be available at all times during their assigned 7-day on-call period and must be prepared to report to Hallmark House when called.
• Caregivers are responsible for making arrangements that allow them to remain available and respond when needed throughout their assigned on-call period.
Essential Responsibilities
The On-Call Caregiver will be responsible for providing compassionate, respectful, and dependable care, including:
• Assisting residents with personal care and activities of daily living, as appropriate.
• Providing assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other personal-care needs.
• Providing medication reminders and health-related support within the caregiver's training and assigned responsibilities.
• Monitoring residents and reporting changes in condition, behavior, or needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Providing companionship and meaningful activities to promote residents' social and emotional well-being.
• Preparing and serving meals and snacks as needed.
• Assisting with light housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
• Assisting with errands and other reasonable household or resident-support tasks as assigned.
• Following Hallmark House policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining residents' privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Communicating effectively with supervisors, residents, families, and other members of the care team.
• Responding appropriately and promptly to resident needs during scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
• Previous caregiving experience preferred.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and responsible.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect residents' dignity.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to report to Hallmark House when called.
• Must meet any applicable background check, training, or certification requirements for the position.
