Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities:

Engineering and project management professional responsible for leading manufacturing projects including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. Providing technical expertise and guidance in working with internal/external suppliers to support/improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness. Lead through innovation and attention to detail, driving project through to completion.

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Select and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for engineering and construction activities.
  • Collaborate with leadership and internal stakeholder groups such as purchasing, estimating, customer service and shop team on design projects.
  • Oversee bidding processes, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Monitor project expenses and ensure alignment with the budget without compromising project quality.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Research new materials, equipment, etc.as related to the manufacturing process.
  • Organize and maintain existing and new engineering records.
  • Document the design process and prepare design and detailed drawings.
  • Conducts research, considers alternative approaches to improve product performance or to meet changing customer requirements.
  • Determines soundness in terms of practical design configuration, manufacturability, and workability.
  • Maintains contact with suppliers on engineering related issues, i.e. material specifications.
  • Directing suppliers to analyze their current or proposed product/process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve process and/or product
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Education - Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of the mold fabrication process helpful
  • Familiarity with plastics products and their applications or related manufacturing experience
  • 57 years progressive project engineering experience
  • Required Skills and Competencies:

  • In depth knowledge of SolidWorks or similar modeler software
  • Material Flow MRP/ERP Systems
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office suite including MS Project) and knowledge of design and visualization software.
  • The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Personally driven and motivates others to excel.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Work efficiently without significant supervision.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arms and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and use fingers. Ability to pull, push and lift objects. Ability to grasp and feel.

    COMPENSATION: $80,000-$110,000 annually commensurate with experience.
