Warehouse Manager, PVF Distribution | Full-Time | Onsite - St. Louis, MO
Service Metal is a nationwide Master Distributor of industrial pipe fittings, valves, and flanges. We are hiring Warehouse Manager to join our St. Louis team and own inbound receiving, leading the team to success.
Role Summary:
We're looking for an experienced and motivated Warehouse Manager to lead our 1st Shift team. This is a full-time, on-site, salaried role where you'll collaborate with other managers while directly leading a team of Warehouse Leads and Material Handlers. In this role, you'll help drive safe, efficient warehouse operations and deliver exceptional service to our customers every day.
What You'll Do:
You'll lead an established team and raise the bar. That means developing your Leads into stronger leaders, coaching Material Handlers with patience, and finding better ways to receive, store, pick, and ship heavy industrial product. It's a great opportunity to shape a high-performing team while helping grow our warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage warehouse safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost control
- Lead daily shipping, receiving, put-away, and inventory control
- Investigate and correct inventory and shipping errors with your Leads and Material Handlers, issuing corrective actions when needed
- Track KPIs, including productivity, order accuracy, on-time shipping, and turn the numbers into daily priorities for the team
- Plan labor needs and adjust staffing based on demand
- Lead and mentor the team to achieve productivity and picking goals
- Oversee inventory processes and drive improvements
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 2-3 years supervising a warehouse or distribution center
- Experience with industrial products, PVF distribution, or heavy materials is a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred (real-world experience valued)
- Hands-on responsibility for receiving, inventory, or shipping
- Proven results in safety, quality, delivery, and inventory goals
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Work Environment:
- This is a warehouse role, with time spent on the warehouse floor.
- Regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
- Regular use of PIT equipment, such as forklifts throughout the day.
