Clinical Responsibilities:
- Position focused entirely on clinical anesthesiology
- Comprehensive anesthesiology services including:
- Cardiac Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Trauma
- ENT
- Interventional Radiology
- Liver Procedures
- Endoscopy
- Additional complex tertiary and quaternary care interventions
- Care for a high-acuity patient demographic with excellent multidisciplinary support
Academic Engagement:
- Faculty appointment based on experience and qualifications
- Instruct and mentor residents and medical students
- Engage in didactic sessions, simulation training, and resident education
- Opportunities for scholarly and academic involvement
- Play a vital role in one of the region's established anesthesiology training programs
Work Schedule & Call Duties:
- Approximately 50 hours per week
- Standard 10-hour clinical shifts
- Collaborative scheduling model aimed at promoting physician wellness
- Later clinical shifts receive "first out" status the next day
- About 13 weekday call shifts per year
- About 11 weekend call shifts per year
- Optional 24-hour call opportunities available
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Missouri
- Dedication to excellence in patient care
- Interest in resident education and academic medicine
