Our organization is actively seeking Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologists to join the Division of Heart Failure, Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support at our medical center located in Nashville, Tennessee. This role offers a unique chance to be part of one of the leading cardiovascular transplant programs globally, merging clinical excellence with academic and research pursuits.
Position Overview
Ideal candidates will be board certified or board eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, showcasing proficiency in assessing and managing patients with advanced heart failure and/or heart transplantation. We welcome applications from physicians at all stages of their careers. Leadership roles are available for those with the requisite qualifications and experience.
The selected individual will engage in the holistic care of patients suffering from advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation, while also contributing to the clinical, educational, and academic objectives of our medical center.
About Our Heart Failure & Transplant Program
Located in Nashville, Tennessee, with additional sites throughout the area, our Heart Failure and Transplant Program is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary initiative focused on treating patients with advanced cardiovascular conditions. In 2025, we achieved a milestone by performing 195 adult heart transplants, the highest number by any center in the nation.
The program features:
- 14 cardiologists specializing in heart failure and transplantation
- 6 surgeons focused on heart transplants and VADs
- A dedicated team of specialized heart failure nurses and advanced practice providers
- Nearly 13,000 annual visits across heart failure and cardiomyopathy clinics
- Specialized initiatives in remote hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac amyloidosis, cardiac sarcoidosis, and various genetic cardiomyopathies
- One of the highest-volume heart transplant programs worldwide
The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a sophisticated academic setting with abundant resources, a diverse and intricate patient demographic, and ample opportunities for collaboration across various cardiovascular specialties.
Qualifications
- An MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree
- Completion of an accredited cardiovascular disease fellowship
- Fellowship training and/or eligibility for certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
- Board certification or eligibility in relevant cardiovascular specialties
- Proven clinical expertise in advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathy, mechanical circulatory support, and/or heart transplantation
- A strong dedication to multidisciplinary patient care, medical education, and academic medicine
