Overview

The SAP MDG Funds Management Functional Consultant will support the design, configuration, and administration of SAP Master Data Governance solutions for Funds Management within a federal SAP S/4HANA environment. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate, governed, and reliable public sector financial master data across integrated SAP systems, enabling effective financial management and compliance.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Funds Management Functional Consultant with expertise in SAP Master Data Governance, Funds Management, and Public Sector financial processes. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring MDG solutions, defining governance workflows, supporting master data quality initiatives, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, enterprise-wide SAP solutions.

Responsibilities


Lead requirements gathering sessions and business process workshops focused on Funds Management master data governance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to document business rules, governance requirements, and master data management processes.
Configure SAP MDG solutions for Funds Management, including data modeling, workflow design, process modeling, and UI FPM configuration.
Develop and maintain validation rules, derivation logic, change request workflows, and governance controls using BRF+.
Support governance processes for Funds, Funds Centers, Commitment Items, Funded Programs, and other Public Sector Management master data objects.
Configure and support Data Replication Framework (DRF) processes to ensure master data consistency across SAP environments.
Facilitate integration of master data through SOA Services, Web Services, IDocs, ALE, and related technologies.
Partner with Finance, Controlling, Public Sector Management, Grants Management, and technical teams to maintain accurate and consistent financial master data.
Design and enforce governance policies, approval workflows, duplicate prevention controls, and data quality standards.
Support integration efforts between Funds Management and related SAP modules including FI, CO, General Ledger, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and Grants Management.
Develop functional specifications, process documentation, configuration documentation, and governance procedures.
Support data migration, data conversion, cleansing, and master data quality initiatives during SAP implementation and enhancement projects.
Execute unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement system enhancements to improve functionality and user adoption.
Participate in change management and business process improvement initiatives to support successful solution deployment.
Provide occasional on-site support to client locations when required.
Adhere to established quality assurance, security, and compliance standards.
Perform additional project and operational responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
5+ years of experience supporting SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), SAP Funds Management (FM), SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), or related SAP functional areas.
Demonstrated experience configuring SAP MDG, including data modeling, workflow configuration, UI FPM modeling, BRF+, and Data Replication Framework (DRF).
Strong knowledge of SAP Funds Management and Public Sector Management master data within SAP S/4HANA environments.
Experience managing master data objects including Funds, Funds Centers, Commitment Items, Funded Programs, and related financial structures.
Experience integrating Funds Management with SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), General Ledger (G/L), Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and Grants Management.
Proven ability to gather business requirements, facilitate workshops, and translate business needs into functional SAP solutions.
Experience developing functional design documentation, governance procedures, configuration specifications, and business process documentation.
Experience supporting enterprise master data governance initiatives across complex, multi-system SAP landscapes.
Knowledge of SAP integration technologies including SOA Services, Web Services, IDocs, ALE, and related enterprise integration tools.
Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations, ERP modernization programs, federal financial systems, or Department of Defense (DoD) environments preferred.
Familiarity with Public Sector Management, Grants Management, Central Finance, and federal financial management processes preferred.
Experience supporting master data migration, cleansing, governance, and quality improvement initiatives preferred.
SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), SAP Funds Management (FM), or related SAP certifications preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to maintain federal security clearance requirements.
Ability to travel occasionally to support client engagements and project activities.
