Water System Installation Technician is primarily responsible for the end-to-end setup and maintenance of filtration and treatment equipment for commercial clients.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Installation & Setup: Configure commercial water & ice filtration systems.
- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventive maintenance, including filter changes.
- Diagnostics: Identify and repair system leaks, pressure irregularities, and faulty electrical or mechanical components.
- Water Quality Testing: Collect and analyze water samples for pH, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), and chlorine levels to document system performance.
- Customer Interaction: Explain system functionality to clients, recommend upgrades, and provide on-site training for equipment usage.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Aptitude: 1–2 years of experience in plumbing or water treatment is a plus, but not required.
- Tools & Equipment: Proficiency with hand tools, power drills, and multi-meters for electrical diagnostics.
- Licensing: A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with a clean record is almost universally required due to the field-based nature of the work.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is generally required.
Compensation and Work Conditions:
- Earnings: Ranges from $20 - $22 Per hour.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs), often up and down stairs or in confined spaces. Must be able to climb on a ladder.
- Environment: The role involves daily travel to customer sites and may include occasional emergency service calls outside regular business hours.
