Job Description
Job Description
Run the front of the house at Astoria's top independent repair shop, and have Saturday through Monday to yourself.
PNW Automotive is a women/veteran-owned shop on the Oregon Coast specializing in European, Asian, luxury, hybrid, and EV vehicles. Our ASE-certified technicians bring 40+ years of combined experience, and we back every repair with a 3-Year/36,000-Mile local warranty plus nationwide coverage.
We're growing, and we need an experienced Service Manager/Writer to take the wheel. This is a true leadership seat, not a trainee role. If you've already run a shop, sold service, and built a team that delivers, we want to talk.
What your days look like
- Leading the team: set clear expectations, coach, follow through, and hold everyone (yourself included) to our standards and values.
- Keeping cars moving: manage workflow from drop-off to delivery with our workflow systems and real-time dispatching, and clear bottlenecks before they stall the day.
- Assist in Selling service: present repair recommendations confidently, understand what’s necessary and what’s just good to know, hit daily targets, and help the shop reach and hold its revenue goals.
- Taking care of customers: address complaints and negative feedback directly, solve problems early, and coach staff to deliver the experience our customers expect.
- Watching the numbers: control costs without cutting quality, and find efficiencies.
- Handling the admin side: work with the owner on payroll, scheduling, and HR documentation.
- Pitching in: if the shop needs something done, you do it or see that it gets done.
You'll report directly to the owner.

- Strong written and verbal communication: professional emails, tough customer conversations, and clear direction to your team
- Basic computer skills: Windows, email, spreadsheets, and typing or dictating 40+ WPM
- The physical ability to get in and out of a variety of vehicles and to drive customers or vehicles as needed
- High standards, with no corner-cutting
What you get
- A four-day work week: Tuesday–Friday, 10-hour days
