Maintenance Technician
Location: Rock Island, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a multifamily apartment community in Rock Island, IL. The ideal candidate will have prior apartment maintenance experience, be EPA Certified, and be comfortable handling a variety of maintenance, repair, HVAC, and make-ready responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Complete apartment make-readies and prepare units for new residents
- Respond to resident maintenance requests and work orders
- Perform general plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and carpentry repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and other maintenance issues throughout the community
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Complete unit turns and ensure apartments are ready for occupancy
- Maintain common areas, buildings, and grounds as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop and work areas
- Communicate professionally with residents, management, and team members
- Assist with emergency and after-hours maintenance as needed
- Follow company safety procedures and maintenance standards
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications
- EPA Certification REQUIRED
- Prior multifamily/apartment maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Experience with apartment make-readies and unit turns
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems and troubleshooting
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete work efficiently
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and a dependable work history
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform physical maintenance duties
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
- CPO certification preferred
