The Technical Project Engineer I is responsible for managing the technical delivery of IT projects from initiation through completion. This role combines project management expertise with hands-on technical execution to ensure solutions are deployed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to develop technical solutions, coordinate resources, and provide expert guidance to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and stage hardware components for project deployment, ensuring readiness and compliance with specifications

• Deploy hardware and solutions on-site with a focus on seamless implementation and customer satisfaction

• Serve as primary technical liaison to clients, addressing concerns and requirements throughout the project lifecycle

• Plan and execute large-scale rollouts, managing logistics, timelines, and resource allocation

• Coordinate project implementation events and related activities to ensure successful delivery

• Configure and customize solutions to meet project specifications and optimize system performance

• Troubleshoot firewall, network, and infrastructure issues in the field under supervision

• Perform low voltage wiring tasks including Cat6 cable terminations, cable management, and network infrastructure installation

• Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated work platforms to install and maintain infrastructure

• Develop creative technical solutions to address complex challenges and adapt to changing project requirements

• Support service desk operations with technical assistance and issue resolution as capacity permits


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Technician, or equivalent technical role

• CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent industry-recognized hardware/support certification

• Demonstrated expertise in firewall, network, and infrastructure troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of technical project requirements and deployment best practices

• Proficiency with hardware deployment and configuration processes

• Ability to think on your feet and develop creative solutions to complex technical challenges

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer-facing presence

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision while following established protocols

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly as part of on-site deployment work

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel 40–60% monthly


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certifications or equivalent

• Current Microsoft certifications in relevant technical areas

• Experience managing IT infrastructure projects

• Familiarity with service desk ticketing systems

• Advanced troubleshooting experience with enterprise network environments
