Pay: $24.60 per hour + $0.40 shift differential
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1:00 PM–9:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm
Job Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Baker to join a food manufacturing team in Poughkeepsie, NY. This hands-on role combines commercial baking and food production with quality and food safety responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a bakery, commercial kitchen, food manufacturing, or production environment and understands the importance of following recipes, production specifications, food safety procedures, and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and produce baked goods according to recipes and production specifications
- Monitor products throughout the baking and production process to ensure consistency and quality
- Check product appearance, labels, codes, packaging, and specifications
- Monitor product temperatures and complete required quality checks
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures
- Assist with recipe testing and product evaluations in a test kitchen environment
- Perform basic quality testing, including pH and Brix testing, as needed
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Inspect equipment and production areas and report quality or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
- Work closely with the production and quality teams to address issues and maintain product standards
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of baking, food production, food manufacturing, or commercial kitchen experience
- Baking experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes, written procedures, and production specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- HACCP and/or ServSafe certification is a plus
- Previous quality assurance or quality control experience is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in a food manufacturing and production environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and safely operate around production equipment
