Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $18 - $20 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Handyman:
- Perform daily repairs and general maintenance to ensure the property is safe, functional, and well maintained
- Maintain the property grounds and assist the Groundskeeper with landscaping and related tasks as needed
- Prepare vacant units for occupancy, including inspections, repairs, cleaning, and necessary improvements
- Troubleshoot and complete maintenance work orders within the scope of the Maintenance Technician role, and notify management when specialized vendors or contractors are required
- Maintain, inspect, and manage the inventory of all property and company-owned maintenance supplies, equipment, and tools
- Report any unusual, hazardous, or extraordinary conditions regarding the property, equipment, or residents to management promptly
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, including adherence to the property's uniform policy
- Keep all work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Provide courteous, timely, and efficient service to residents, guests, vendors, and fellow team members
- Comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations and all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and community guidelines
- Participate in training programs and pursue professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills
- Be available to work on an on-call basis and respond to maintenance emergencies as required
- Ensure maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment are properly secured at the end of each workday
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Property Manager or Supervisor that are consistent with the Maintenance Technician position

Job requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Six to nine months of related maintenance experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification is preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required
- Proof of current automobile insurance required
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents, vendors, and team members
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to work with units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written and verbal instructions
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve routine maintenance issues using sound judgment
- Ability to work effectively in standardized situations involving several concrete variables
- Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers, handle objects, and reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, and communicate effectively through speaking and listening
- Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds or more with appropriate assistance and equipment
- Must possess visual abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Regularly works outdoors and is exposed to varying weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or hazardous chemicals, and electrical hazards
- May be required to work in confined spaces and around maintenance equipment and machinery
- Background check and Drug test required
