Restoration & Construction Technician
Job Description
Job Description
Holt Construction Group is a single-source, full-service general construction firm specializing in restoring, renovating, and maintaining multi-family, senior living, and commercial properties. Our services range from general construction and renovations to water mitigation, fire restoration, mold remediation, and insurance-related repairs.
We are a family-owned business, and our growing team is looking for a hardworking, dependable Restoration & Construction Technician to serve our multi-family and commercial clients.
This is a hands-on field position for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop skills across both restoration and general construction. Restoration and insurance-related work will be a primary focus when those projects are available. Between restoration assignments, this position will work alongside our construction teams on renovation, repair, maintenance, and other general construction projects.
If you pride yourself on setting high standards, going the extra mile, taking initiative, and treating others the way you would like to be treated, we would like to hear from you.
Position Summary
The Restoration & Construction Technician supports both our restoration and general construction operations. Responsibilities may vary from day to day depending on project needs.
During restoration and insurance-related projects, this position will assist with emergency water, fire, mold, and other property damage losses, including mitigation, demolition, drying, cleanup, and repair activities.
When restoration work is not available, this position will be assigned to general construction projects and assist our field teams with demolition, repairs, renovations, maintenance, punch-list work, jobsite setup and cleanup, and other construction-related tasks.
The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change based on project and emergency response needs. Previous restoration or construction experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to water, fire, mold, and other property damage and insurance-related losses.
- Perform emergency mitigation, water extraction, structural drying, demolition, cleanup, and related restoration activities.
- Set up, monitor, and remove dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubbers, and other restoration equipment.
- Assist with moisture mapping, jobsite documentation, photos, and other loss documentation.
- Perform demolition, site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and general labor on construction and renovation projects.
- Assist skilled trades and construction team members with repairs, renovations, maintenance, punch-list work, and other project needs based on experience and skill level.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
- Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, residents, subcontractors, and other members of the project team.
- Properly care for company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Participate in the company's 24-hour on-call rotation and respond to emergency losses after hours and on weekends according to the on-call schedule.
- Drive company vehicles to jobsites and between project locations.
- Follow company safety procedures and jobsite requirements.
- Perform additional restoration and construction duties as skills and experience grow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50+ pounds.
- Comfortable working in active construction environments and properties affected by water, fire, mold, and other types of damage.
- Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to participate in the after-hours on-call rotation, approximately one week per month.
- Previous construction, maintenance, mitigation, or restoration experience is preferred but not required.
- IICRC certifications are preferred but not required.
What to Expect
This is not a restoration-only position. Restoration and insurance work will be prioritized as it becomes available, while general construction work will make up an important part of the role. Team members should be prepared to move between emergency restoration projects, insurance repairs, renovations, and general construction assignments based on the needs of our clients and project teams.
