Job Description Service Engineer
TRC is seeking a Service Engineer to provide troubleshooting, service, and support for industrial automation equipment at customer sites. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving PLC, robotic, electrical, and mechanical issues on custom assembly line equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong controls troubleshooting experience and enjoy traveling to support customers across North America and internationally.

Travel: 50-60% Domestic & International
Compensation: $90,000-$110,000
Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and service PLC-controlled automation equipment in the field.

Modify and support existing PLC programs using Siemens. Allen Bradley and Beckhoff platforms.

Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and robotic system issues.

Support customers during equipment downtime and emergency service calls.

Perform equipment inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Document service activities and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.

Travel to customer sites for service trips, typically lasting up to one week.

Provide occasional weekend support when required.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience servicing industrial automation equipment.

Strong PLC troubleshooting experience; programming modifications preferred.

Experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley or Beckhoff PLCs. Beckhoff experience preferred.

Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Experience working with industrial robotics, including Fanuc and/or KUKA.

Background supporting custom assembly lines, automated machinery, or manufacturing equipment.

Passport or ability to obtain a passport required.

Previous experience as a Controls Engineer, Service Engineer, Automation Technician, or Field Service Engineer.

Leadership experience with service teams is a plus.
