Role Description The Housing Resource Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Madison, WI. This position supports individuals and families in identifying, securing, and maintaining safe, stable housing by connecting them to appropriate community resources, programs, and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting housing needs assessments, assisting with applications for housing programs and subsidies, and coordinating with landlords, property managers, and partner agencies. The specialist maintains accurate documentation, tracks progress and outcomes, and provides ongoing advocacy and problem-solving support to help clients navigate housing-related challenges. The role also involves collaborating with internal CRC teams, participating in case conferences, and contributing to continuous improvement of housing support processes and tools.

- Demonstrated experience in housing support, social services, case management, or a related human services field, with the ability to connect clients to housing and community resources.
- Strong client-facing skills, including active listening, empathy, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including accurate documentation, time management, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local housing programs, rental assistance options, supportive services, and relevant regulations in Madison, WI, or willingness to learn these quickly.
- Proficiency with basic office software and data entry tools, and comfort using technology to track cases, report outcomes, and communicate with partners.
- Ability to collaborate with landlords, property managers, community agencies, and internal CRC teams to coordinate services and resolve housing-related issues.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
