Pat Taylor & Associates, Inc., a government contractor with more than 30 years of experience providing legal professionals to federal agencies, is seeking a Legal Assistant / Junior Paralegal to support the Office of the Chief Counsel at a prominent federal agency in downtown Washington, DC. We have proudly supported this agency for over a decade.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with 1–2 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience who is looking to gain valuable federal legal experience in a professional, fast-paced environment.

Position Details

    \n
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • \n

  • 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • \n

  • On-site in Northwest Washington, DC
  • \n

  • Long-term contract (approximately 9 months - 1 year, option for further extension
  • \n

  • Candidates should be able to commit to the full assignment
  • \n

Compensation & Benefits

  • $29.25 per hour

Responsibilities

\n

This position combines legal support with administrative responsibilities in support of a team of attorneys. Duties include:

\n

    \n
  • Draft, prepare, and edit legal correspondence and documents
  • \n

  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper case files
  • \n

  • Maintain and update electronic case tracking systems
  • \n

  • Assist with legal research and document review
  • \n

  • Coordinate meetings, hearings, depositions, and attorney calendars
  • \n

  • Prepare case materials and assist with trial preparation
  • \n

  • Organize large volumes of legal documents and records
  • \n

  • Perform data entry and database management
  • \n

  • Answer phones and provide general administrative support
  • \n

  • Collaborate with attorneys and other agency personnel on a variety of legal matters
  • \n

\n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 1–2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal (litigation experience preferred)
  • \n

  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • \n

  • Experience working with electronic document management or case management systems is preferred
  • \n

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a professional office environment
  • \n

  • Experience with litigation support, legal research, or document review is a plus
  • \n
