This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with three high-functioning students who follow academic schedules and do not have significant medical needs. Your specialized skill set will help shape a supportive, achievement-oriented classroom focused on developing essential life skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New Hampshire Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience working with middle school-aged students essential
- Strong background in moderating or leading Life Skills programs highly desired
- Familiarity with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
- Design, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) to foster academic and life skill growth
- Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and families to ensure holistic support for each student
- Develop engaging, differentiated lesson plans aligned with student abilities and interests
- Monitor progress, collect data, and participate in IEP meetings and team planning
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students, promoting independence and self-advocacy
