Description\n
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.

- Medical Surgical unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
- No block scheduling permitted
- Every other weekend requirement (2 weekends per month)
- No on-call requirements
- Mandatory float facility - clinicians may be floated within scope to meet facility needs, including mid-shift and to units outside primary competency with team-based support
- Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements\n

- Active IL RN license required in hand upon consideration (no pending licenses)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg
- Cerner charting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
- Two professional references from supervisors within the past 2 years required, from most recent employers
- Proof of COVID vaccination required, booster not required

- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response support
- May be required to float to other units or facilities within a 50-mile radius, with as little as 2 hours notice
- Refusal to float may result in cancellation of assignment
- RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days, and no RTO on weekends
- No holiday RTO, and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
- Calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Returning resources must undergo full recredentialing and reattend orientation, even if the break in contract was less than 30 days
- First-time travelers not considered for this position
