Overview:

\n

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Associate Attorney with at least 2–3 years of litigation experience (ideally 4–8 years). This position focuses on a balanced caseload of 90% Construction Litigation and 10% Business Litigation. Must be licensed to practice in Florida and possess significant experience in construction-related legal matters, including liens, bonds, and defect claims.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, including motion practice, hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • \n

  • Handle construction defect litigation, lien and bond disputes, delay claims, scope of work disputes, and breach of contract cases.
  • \n

  • Counsel clients on Florida Construction Lien Law, Chapter 713, and applicable performance/payment bond regulations.
  • \n

  • Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery including e-discovery, expert retention, and depositions.
  • \n

  • Draft legal pleadings, substantive motions, mediation statements, and settlement agreements.
  • \n

  • Maintain clear and timely communication with clients and opposing counsel.
  • \n

  • Billable Target: 130 hours/month
  • \n

Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active Florida Bar license.
  • \n

  • Minimum of 2–3 years litigation experience (4–8 years preferred).
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience handling matters involving liens, bonds, and construction defect claims.
  • \n

  • Trial experience and familiarity with insurance defense procedures preferred.
  • \n

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
