A professional services organisation specialising in engineering, construction management and infrastructure projects is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial management of project-based work. The role will partner closely with Project Managers, finance teams, clients and subcontractors across project setup, budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, contract administration and billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial oversight and support to Project Managers from project startup through closeout.

\n

• Prepare, monitor and maintain project budgets and forecasts.

\n

• Track project costs and revenue, analyse variances and provide insights into project profitability.

\n

• Perform financial analysis relating to project performance, trends and financial risks.

\n

• Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, including WBS structures, budgets, billing terms, revenue recognition and contract details.

\n

• Ensure project financial data is accurate, timely and compliant with internal policies and contractual requirements.

\n

• Support monthly revenue recognition, including percentage-of-completion calculations.

\n

• Prepare and issue client invoices in accordance with contract terms and approved billing formats.

\n

• Coordinate with clients, project teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely billing.

\n

• Assist with contract reviews, modifications, notices and related correspondence.

\n

• Partner with Project Managers and finance teams to monitor overall project financial health.

\n

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and contractual requirements.

\n

• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation and information.

\n

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related field.

\n

• 4+ years of experience in project accounting, financial analysis or a similar role within a project-based environment.

\n

• Experience supporting projects in construction, engineering or infrastructure is preferred.

\n

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

\n

• Experience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.

\n

• Familiarity with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition is a plus.

\n

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

\n

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

\n

• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with different stakeholders.

\n
