Diesel Mechanic
Essential Duties:
<ul>
<li>Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.</li>
<li>Performs preventive maintenance on underground diesel mining equipment. Replaces parts on a scheduled basis. Dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and hand tools. </li>
<li>Troubleshoots, diagnoses equipment malfunctions and replaces, repairs or rebuilds.</li>
<li>Uses blueprints and follows manuals and parts lists in setting up and performing repairs and any rebuilds.</li>
<li>Operate equipment to diagnose problems.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Background in repair and maintenance of underground diesel equipment.</li>
<li>Ability to use prints and manuals.</li>
<li>Understanding of hydraulics.</li>
<li>Electrical systems.</li>
<li>Diagnostic skills.</li>
<li>Properties of various fuels and oils.</li>
<li>Proper lifting / handling materials.</li>
<li>Lock and tag-out procedures.</li>
<li>Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.</li>
</ul>
Education, Qualifications and Training:
<ul>
<li>Underground Diesel Mechanic Certified </li>
<li>Annual 8-hour retraining</li>
<li>On-the-job experience</li>
<li>Vocational training (optional)</li>
</ul>
