The Role

\n

\n

The firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its Houston team.

\n

The position is 100% litigation and 100% defense, with a broad insurance defense caseload and particular exposure to first-party property matters.

\n

\n

Responsibilities will include:

\n

\n
• Managing insurance defense matters from inception through resolution

\n

• Handling first-party property and coverage-related disputes

\n

• Developing litigation and settlement strategy

\n

• Drafting pleadings, motions and written discovery

\n

• Taking and defending depositions

\n

• Evaluating liability, damages and exposure

\n

• Working directly with insurers and commercial clients

\n

• Negotiating settlements

\n

• Preparing matters for mediation and trial

\n

\n

\n

Salary and Benefits

\n

\n
• Base Salary: $130,000–$200,000 depending on experience

\n

• Origination: 15%

\n

• Location: Houston / Kingwood, Texas

\n

• Working Arrangement: Hybrid, typically 3 days per week in office

\n

• Remote Flexibility: May be considered for a sufficiently experienced attorney

\n

\n

Looking For

\n

\n
• Approximately 5–7 years of general insurance defense experience

\n

• Admitted to the Texas Bar

\n

• Strong civil litigation background

\n

• First-party property insurance experience highly desirable

\n

• Property claims experience advantageous

\n

\n

\n
