Job Title: General Production Worker Shift- Saturday, Sunday, Monday 6am-6pm

Job Description

The General Production Worker operates and maintains an assigned production line to established safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role supports roll production activities, ensures accurate documentation, and follows ISO procedures while actively contributing to continuous improvement and teamwork on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the assigned production line in accordance with established safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Perform all roll production activities, including prepping for roll production, doffing rolls, packaging rolls, and supporting line start-ups.
  • Meet established productivity standards and quotas while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Understand, follow, and fully utilize all ISO procedures relevant to the production process.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time, such as patrols, housekeeping sheets, doff quality coding, and other production records.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to product quality or productivity that arise from the team or the machinery.
  • Make appropriate adjustments to machinery and equipment to optimize performance and resolve production issues.
  • Monitor work processes and product quality to ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the shift.
  • Suggest improvements to processes, procedures, and work methods to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Collaborate with team members, share ideas, and support a positive and respectful team environment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of hearing protection and safe practices around high-speed machinery and hot surfaces.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area to support a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in general production, manufacturing, or general labor in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to operate and maintain production lines and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Hands-on skills in machine operation and assembly-related tasks.
  • Capability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow ISO procedures and complete documentation accurately.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues affecting quality or productivity.
  • Ability to monitor work processes and product quality to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Effective teamwork skills, including collaboration, listening, and respectful communication.
  • Dependability in meeting productivity standards and fulfilling commitments.
  • Ability to work scheduled evening and overnight shifts Monday through Thursday.

Work Environment

The physical demands include frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle tools and controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and smelling. The role requires periodically lifting and moving up to 35 pounds and frequently climbing up to three levels above floor level. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment may involve exposure to prevailing weather conditions, dust, heat, humidity, and odors. Noise levels vary, and hearing protection is required in some areas. Employees work around extremely high-speed machinery with open inward-turning rolls and extremely hot surfaces, and must follow all safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Hickory, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
