As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the organization by leading a team of Maintenance Mechanics supporting four production facilities in Aurora, IL. In this role, you will oversee equipment maintenance and repairs while partnering closely with Engineering and Operations to develop, schedule, and execute preventative maintenance programs that maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Maintenance Technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing plastic extrusion machines, CNC routers, robotic assembly cells, and other production equipment.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production teams to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules designed to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Coordinate and oversee the timely completion of preventative maintenance activities in partnership with Production leadership.
  • Identify and maintain appropriate spare parts and inventory needed to service production equipment.
  • Establish maintenance best practices for various equipment and machine designs to improve reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Assign technicians to equipment repairs based on production priorities, technician capabilities, and skill sets.
  • Apply root cause analysis techniques to identify sources of equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develop and implement a team training plan to ensure maintenance skills are appropriately distributed and technicians are prepared to respond quickly to anticipated equipment failures.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members while promoting professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and strong communication across functional teams.


Required Skills & Abilities


  • Previous experience leading or supervising a small maintenance team.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with production equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring, including 120V–480V systems.
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a personal set of standard maintenance tools.


Education & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising small teams.
  • Prior experience in plastics manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to spend extended periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
