Job Description The College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR) at the University of Missouri invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics and the Al and Mary Agnes McQuinn Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership. The successful candidate will serve as Director of the McQuinn Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and, based on qualifications, be eligible for a tenured professorship in the College’s Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS). The position supports teaching and research relating to entrepreneurship, leadership, strategy, and related disciplines. This is a nine-month appointment. If hired at the Assistant Professor rank, the candidate will be appointed to the endowed Chair upon successful promotion with tenure at the Associate Professor rank. Unlike traditional entrepreneurship programs designed for a general business education, the McQuinn Chair’s position within CAFNR lends itself to a natural emphasis on entrepreneurship in life sciences, food and agriculture, rural development, and natural resource entrepreneurship. When created in 2004, the McQuinn Chair was designed to enhance research, classroom teaching, and one-on-one mentoring in entrepreneurial leadership, with a specific charge to enhance the life sciences economic engine in the State of Missouri and to help raise MU’s national reputation as promoter of innovation in this emerging field. This includes the pursuit of innovative and non-conventional visions, the parameters and requirements of risk-taking, and personal conduct and priorities. The scope of the chair is not only with the creation, management, and growth of new firms and organizations but also with the operation of existing enterprises, the adaptation of technological and organizational innovations, and the management of human resources. We are interested in candidates whose professional background, research, and/or teaching interests complement DASS’s existing strengths in entrepreneurship theory, the economics of institutions and organizations, natural resource economics, community development, and policy analysis. DASS is home to several research and outreach centers, including the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI), the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF), the Graduate Institute of Cooperative Leadership (GICL), the Financial Research Institute (FRI), the Interdisciplinary Center for Food Security, along with the McQuinn Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:&nbsp;The Research Associate will serve as a support person for the Entomology and Insect Ecology and Management Program, and will assist in developing, conducting, and managing field and Laboratory research for this program at Kentucky State University. &nbsp; The successful candidate will also help prepare manuscripts for publishing in journals and presenting relevant information at scientific meetings, in addition to Extension and outreach programming such as the KSU Third Thursday Sustainable Ag Workshops. &nbsp; &nbsp;

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:The successful candidate in this position will work closely with the principal investigator and be a member of a team conducting investigative field and laboratory research focusing on conservation biological control using native perennial plants to increase biodiversity of insect predators and parasitoids (i.e., natural enemies) to manage pest insects in vegetable and fruit crops. Specifically we are attracting several species of lady beetles, lacewings, big eyed bugs, minute pirate bugs, ground beetles and other predators and parasitoids of sweet corn pests to this and other crops. This position will also evaluate/develop sustainable methods of sweet corn insect pest management by conducting laboratory bioassays of flowering plants, weeds, and synthetic herbivore induced plant protection odors which may attract or repel beneficial insects.

This position involves designing and implementing, and maintaining field, laboratory, and greenhouse experiments. &nbsp;It involves setting up experiments, collecting, entering, and statistical analyses of data, assisting with development of manuscripts for publication, PowerPoints for presenting, plus training and supervising other researchers, graduate students, and undergraduates who are conducting research in the program. &nbsp;Experience operating farm machinery (ie. tractors, planters, cultivators, tine weeders, etc.) is preferred. &nbsp;Experience analyzing data using modern statistical software is essential as is fluency in all Microsoft Office Software. &nbsp;&nbsp;

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

<li>Conduct field experiments to determine attractancy of native perennial plants to predatory lady beetles, lacewings, big eyed bugs, minute pirate bugs, ground beetles and other predators and parasitoids of sweet corn, and other vegetable and fruit crop insect pests.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;Required: M.S. in Entomology, Environmental Science, Horticulture, Agriculture, Soil Science, Agronomy, or related area. &nbsp;One to three years of relevant experience preferred.
Licensing and Certifications:&nbsp; A valid driver’s license is required. Candidate will need to earn pesticide applicators licensethrough the University of Kentucky/Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension Service.

Synergos is seeking an experienced Managing Director, GlobalPhilanthropists Circle to lead our network of philanthropists, acritical and growing arm of our organization.
This position is a full-time role reporting to the CEO and is akey member of the leadership team. The Managing Director willmanage the Global Philanthropists Circle, a global network withmembers from 30 countries that supports values-drivenphilanthropists and social investors to better address systemiccauses of poverty and inequity. They will oversee and supervise aglobal team with functions including planning, project management,budgeting and financial management, staffing, mentoring,resourcing, marketing and evaluation. The Managing Director willhave oversight over relationship management as well as membershipinitiatives including learning journeys, member meetings,collective action initiatives, and other programs with a goal ofattract new members and retain current members
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Operations
<ul>
<li>Lead a process to clarify the value proposition, futurestrategic direction and sustainable business model of our work withphilanthropists.</li>
<li>Implement the strategic direction for Philanthropy at Synergosensuring adequate systems, staffing, and resources are in place tosuccessfully deliver on its ambitious mission and goals.</li>
</ul>
Program and Business Development
<ul>
<li>Working with the Philanthropy team and other Synergosdepartments, design and execute a strong offering of products,programs, and services, including but not limited to membershipnetworks, collective action initiatives, and advisory service formembers that enhance their impact in line with Synergos’ mission,and drives continued/deeper engagement with Synergos overtime.</li>
<li>Design and execute a successful business development andresource mobilization strategy, in collaboration with other membersof the Synergos leadership team, for the global philanthropyprogram at Synergos, aligning to Synergos’ overall goals andmission (inclusive of cultivating new members; identifying andforging strategic partnerships; developing strategies for growthand diversification of income streams; etc.) Through membershipfees and grants, operate the GPC to provide Synergos withadditional unrestricted income to support its other programs andofferings.</li>
<li>Leading with humility, serve as a resource on philanthropy andinternational development trends for members and for other Synergosstakeholders, including the Synergos board.</li>

Team Management
<ul>
<li>Align the global Philanthropy team around a shared vision,strategy, and workplan, taking into account the diverse contextsand markets in which staff members work.</li>
<li>Assure capture of data on CRM and drive accountability,evaluation and assessment measures and systems to capture theimpact of the Philanthropy at Synergos.</li>
<li>Support global team members to achieve portfolio- andmarket-specific goals through mentorship, team workshopping, and/oradditional capacity.</li>
<li>Manage departmental budget and ensure responsible use ofresources within the team.</li>
<li>Serve as member of the Synergos Leadership Team, providingguidance and leadership in the overall development ofSynergos.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>At least 15 years of management experience, with a successfultrack record of managing and mentoring a global team, as well asexecuting strategic plans rooted in innovation, impact, andinclusivity.</li>
<li>Exceptional capacity for empathetic listening and authenticrelationship building with and across diverse sets of stakeholders.Ability to build trust-based, generative relationships with teammembers, (U)HNW families, donors, and investors.</li>
<li>Significant experience in building, managing, and facilitatingaction-oriented networks, ideally across public, private, nonprofitsectors and across global geographies.</li>
<li>Exceptional ability to manage and execute complex projects, asevidenced by strong experience in project planning and management,budgeting, and financial management.</li>
