POSITION
Current HR is seeking a full-time Payroll Expert (i.e. Payroll Specialist) to coordinate daily payroll-related functions, including the processing of client payroll, submitting daily bank files, and assisting clients with timekeeping issues. This position will assist with payroll tax handling and remittance. The Payroll Expert must be analytical, methodical, and organized with experience in payroll administration and a knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations.&nbsp;
This position is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction with payroll services and will work directly with clients to assist with their payroll processing needs. The Payroll Expert maintains ongoing relationships with client contacts and acts as a point of contact for payroll services. This individual will work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure quality customer service and payroll support.

WORK TYPE
This is preferably a hybrid position based in Fort Wright, KY. For purposes of team member interactions, the selected individual will be expected to report onsite to our Fort Wright office on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week but can work the remaining scheduled days remotely. A non-local candidate may be considered for remote work, based on experience and qualifications.
JOB DUTIES
<ul>
<li>Process payroll for clients including maintenance of child support garnishments, benefit contributions, payroll taxes, and other deductions as necessary.</li>
<li>Assist clients with processing of payroll changes (i.e. new hires, terminations, raises).</li>
<li>Ensure timely and accurate entry of data pertaining to individual employee payroll records.</li>
<li>Keep up to date on all federal, state, and local regulations through continual self-driven research, as well as attending webinars and APA meetings.</li>
<li>Assist with processing all monthly, quarterly, and annual federal, state, and local payroll reports and filings.</li>
<li>Assist with processing payroll tax deposits.</li>
<li>Prepare occasional reports for employee benefit vendors including workers’ compensation, 401(k), etc.</li>
<li>Coordinate problems regarding payroll discrepancies with clients and Payroll Director.</li>
<li>Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service via phone or email to clients and employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, or the payroll process.</li>
<li>Assist clients with payroll processing issues, including communication of payroll information.</li>
<li>Other job-related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
<ul>
<li>Advanced knowledge of payroll processing.</li>
<li>Intermediate knowledge of payroll tax administration.</li>
<li>Understanding of wage and hour laws.</li>
<li>Organization and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Familiarity with payroll software.</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,&nbsp;oral and written communication,&nbsp;customer service skills, and&nbsp;time management skills.</li>
<li>Understanding of basic mathematical and accounting concepts.</li>
<li>Ability to read and comprehend instructions.</li>
<li>Strong sense of ethics.</li>
<li>Familiarity with Microsoft office suite of products.</li>

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of an associate degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related field required. Consideration may be given to a candidate with experience in lieu of a degree.</li>
<li>2 years of payroll experience preferred, with 1&nbsp;year&nbsp;of direct experience handling multi-state payroll.</li>
<li>Prior PEO or outsourced payroll experience strongly preferred.</li>
<li>FPC or CPP designation preferred, or desire to obtain.</li>
<li>Experience with MasterTax or Asure PTM strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of and experience with PrismHR strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Must have competence in word processing such as Microsoft Word, and general computer usage.</li>
<li>Must be a self-starter, motivated, well-organized, and willing to learn new skills.</li>
<li>Able to be analytical and investigative with regards to payroll issues.</li>
<li>Must adhere to confidentiality policy.</li>
<li>Must have intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.</li>
<li>Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and be willing to submit to a criminal background check.</li>
</ul>
COMPENSATION
In the spirit of pay transparency, we can share that the pay range for this position is $45,000-55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
