Franklin Cummings Tech is expanding its in-house Data Insights capacity. The person in this role is responsible for leveraging data to grow, engage, and steward audiences across multiple platforms and departments. The person who is suited to this role could have a background in product management, software engineering, data analytics, or data architecture, with the goal of optimizing the student, donor, and employer experience college wide. This person would collaborate across the organization on audience analytics and optimization of the use of platforms such as Salesforce, Jen1, and others in our institutional tech stack.  Sawhorse Productions is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Interactive Department and dive deep into game analytics and shape the future of interactive experiences. In this role, you’ll extract and interpret data from Roblox games to optimize gameplay, enhance player engagement, and drive strategic decision-making. You’ll work closely with game designers, developers, and product teams to uncover trends, identify issues, and implement data-driven solutions that improve performance and monetization. 
Requirements

<li>Extract and interpret game data: Use SQL queries to retrieve and analyze large datasets from Roblox games, identifying trends in player behavior, engagement, and monetization.</li>
<li>Uncover and solve game design issues: Detect imbalances, exploits, and engagement drop-offs (e.g., currency hoarding, level skipping) and collaborate with developers to create effective solutions.</li>
<li>Optimize game performance and engagement: Leverage data-driven insights to enhance game mechanics, UI/UX, and overall player experience.</li>
<li>Design and execute A/B testing: Run controlled experiments to measure the impact of new features, gameplay adjustments, and content updates on player retention and monetization.</li>
<li>Support live-service updates: Identify key engagement trends between updates and develop strategies to maintain player interest over time.</li>
<li>Track and improve monetization strategies: Analyze in-game purchases, player progression, and economic trends to maintain a fair and engaging game economy.</li>
<li>Develop real-time analytics dashboards: Create clear, interactive reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs).</li>
<li>Ensure data accuracy and integrity: Implement validation processes to maintain clean, reliable datasets and troubleshoot discrepancies in analytics.</li>
<li>Present actionable insights: Translate complex data into clear recommendations for game designers, developers, and marketing teams to align data-driven insights with business goals.</li>
<li>Work cross-functionally: Partner with game designers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure data-driven decision-making aligns with player engagement strategies.</li>
<li>Stay ahead of gaming analytics trends: Research industry best practices, new data tools, and emerging trends to enhance Sawhorse’s analytics capabilities.</li>
<li>Monitor competitor performance: Conduct benchmarking research to understand market positioning and identify opportunities for improvement.</li>

Qualifications
A strong candidate for this position should have the following qualities:

<li>Proficiency in SQL and database management: Ability to write complex queries, extract insights, and handle large datasets efficiently.</li>
<li>Experience with game analytics tools: Familiarity with analytics tracking systems for gaming platforms, preferably Roblox Studio, Luau scripting, and custom event tracking.</li>
<li>A/B testing and statistical analysis expertise: Understanding of hypothesis testing, experiment design, and interpreting results to drive decisions.</li>
<li>Data visualization &amp; reporting: Experience using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to create clear, insightful reports and dashboards.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of game design principles: Passion for gaming with a deep understanding of player psychology, engagement loops, and monetization mechanics.</li>
<li>Experience in live-service game analytics: Ability to track engagement patterns, optimize player retention strategies, and adapt to evolving gameplay dynamics.</li>
<li>Background in game economy balancing: Knowledge of virtual economies, currency sinks, and in-game purchasing behaviors.</li>
<li>Ability to translate data into actionable insights: Strong analytical skills with a keen ability to identify trends and recommend improvements in game design and player engagement.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication skills: Ability to present complex data findings in a clear, digestible way to both technical and non-technical teams.</li>
