- ARRT (N) or NMTCB, ARRT N*, NMTCB*, State license.
- BLS
- Minimum 2+years of experience as a nuclear tech.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Travel Contract
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 – 15:30) – Variable start times (7 AM, 9 AM, or 10 AM)
 
Job Details:-
Contract Length: 13 weeks
 
Call Coverage:
Monday–Friday: Call begins at the end of shift and runs until 11:00 PM
Weekends/Holidays: Call coverage 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Weekend availability required
Ratios: 1:2
 
Requirements:-
Minimum 1 year of experience required
Certifications: BLS, ARRT (NMTCB accepted)
Must be able to perform lymphoscintigraphy studies (injection of tracer required)
Experience with Epic charting preferred
A California license must be in hand before start
First-time travelers accepted
 
Pay Range/Salary Range: $70 - $75

Job - Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Contract - 13 weeks 
Shift - 4x10 days (10 hrs)
 
Job Details:-
Perform nuclear medicine exams to provide diagnostic images and evaluate organ function.
Conduct moderate to complex analysis, including monitoring resources and evaluating processes.
Assist physicians by analyzing biological specimens and presenting imaging results.
Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize departmental effectiveness.
 
Qualifications:-
Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) – Required.
Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) – Required.
Prior experience in nuclear medicine imaging – Preferred.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled nuclear medicine technologist to be responsible for the preparation and administration of radioactive drugs. Nuclear medicine technologist's responsibilities include operating imaging equipment and ensuring the safety of all medical staff and patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
Job Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals (oral, injection, inhalation).</li>
<li>Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and ensure comfort/positioning.</li>
<li>Operate PET and SPECT imaging equipment.</li>
<li>Process images for brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver.</li>
<li>Monitor patients for reactions to radioactive drugs.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceuticals and procedures.</li>
<li>Produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.</li>
<li>Follow radiation safety protocols for staff and patients.</li>
<li>Maintain and inspect imaging equipment.</li>
<li>Stay updated on advances and innovations in nuclear medicine.</li>
</ul>
Required Certification &amp; Experience:
<ul>
<li>Minimum 2 years of experience</li>
<li>IV starts, PACS proficiency</li>
<li>Required Procedure Experience: Cardiac, Bone Scan, Liver/Spleen Scan, Lung Scan, Thyroid Studies, Tumor Localization, Myocardial</li>
<li>Preferred Procedure Experience: Brain Scan, Renal Flow, SPECT</li>
<li>Documentation: Cerner</li>
<li>Equipment: Siemens preferred</li>
<li>BLS and ARRT (N) or NMTCB required</li>

Performs nuclear medicine and PET exams maintaining maximal patient safety and comfort. Exams include all parts of the vasculature structures and organ systems.
 
SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED

<li>Technical skills in nuclear medicine technology</li>
<li>Technical skills in computed tomography</li>
<li>Knowledge of all vasculature and organ systems</li>
<li>Skilled in the use of radioisotopes </li>
<li>Basic patient care and assessment techniques</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in ALARA, radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection and medical terminology. </li>
<li>High degree of accuracy in radioisotope exposure techniques</li>
</ul>
 
Required:

<li>ARRT certification in CT and/or NMTCB certification in PET</li>
<li>Two (2) years training in an AMA approved school for Nuclear Medicine Technology</li>
