Position Overview:
Vivid is seeking a highly skilled Fiber Test Engineer to join our team as a contractor for the one of a kind datacenter Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing testing, validation, and troubleshooting of fiber-optic networks and associated systems, ensuring the highest level of performance and reliability for critical telecom and cloud infrastructure. As part of the team working on the client's cutting-edge technology, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the company's global data center expansion and the development of innovative cloud solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Fiber Network Testing:
<ul>
<li>Conduct testing on fiber-optic cables, fiber links, and related telecom infrastructure to validate signal strength, attenuation, and performance.</li>
<li>Perform end-to-end testing on fiber-optic networks, including both single-mode and multi-mode fibers, to ensure compliance with client's standards.</li>
</ul>
 
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
<ul>
<li>Use advanced diagnostic tools such as OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer), optical power meters, and fiber analyzers to locate and resolve fiber-related issues in the network.</li>
<li>Perform fault isolation and root cause analysis on fiber network performance issues.</li>
</ul>
 
Documentation and Reporting:

<li>Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, results, and logs, in line with clients’s project standards.</li>
<li>Report on fiber-optic performance metrics and ensure that all test findings are documented accurately.</li>

Collaboration with Engineering Teams:

<li>Work closely with system engineers, network architects, and project managers to support the design and deployment of fiber-optic networks for clients’s data centers and cloud infrastructure.</li>
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure fiber network specifications are met and integrated correctly with the broader telecom infrastructure.</li>

Continuous Improvement:

<li>Provide feedback to the engineering team on fiber-optic performance and reliability, recommending improvements or alternative solutions as necessary.</li>

Required Skills and Qualifications:
 
Education:

<li>Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li>

Experience:

<li>Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with fiber-optic network testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.</li>
<li>Proven experience working with fiber testing equipment, including OTDRs, optical power meters, and fiber analyzers.</li>
<li>Experience with large-scale data center and telecom network infrastructure, preferably in cloud computing or enterprise-level deployments.</li>

Technical Proficiency:

The Transformer Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of field service projects involving power and distribution transformers. This role includes assembly, installation, testing, inspection, and repair of transformer equipment, often in challenging field environments with extensive travel and non-standard schedules.

· Conduct regular maintenance checks on machines and other equipment.

<li>Service Requests may include, but not limited to: boiler repair and cleaning, range and hood fan repairs, refrigerator/freezer repairs, items that main the property, such as appliances, walls, fixtures, flooring, plumbing, heat calls, electrical (except where a licensed electrician is required), painting, spackling, drywall repair and/or installation and hole patching. Cutting of any water, drain, sewer, gas, or propane line is strictly prohibited.</li>
<li>Installation and removal of appliances (refrigerators, ranges, heat pumps, etc.) as needed and assigned.</li>
<li>Property responsibility may include, but not limited to: service requests such as gutter and downspout, exterior siding, alteration of new or existing systems, road sign installation and repair, road line painting, and pot hole patching.</li>
<li>Interior and/or exterior electrical repairs may include, but not limited to: troubleshooting wiring faults, switch and outlet replacement, bulb and fixture replacements, and light and power equipment on the job.</li>
<li>Plumbing repairs may include, but not limited to: repair and cleaning of sewer drain lines, clearing blockages in any drain lines, repair and replacement of any kitchen sink, bath lavatory, bathtub, or toilet, and detection and prompt reporting of gas leaks, as required. (Except where a licensed plumber is required) Cutting of any water, drain, sewer, gas, or propane line is strictly prohibited.</li>
<li>Snow removal, shoveling, spreading ice melt and other related duties may require on call assignments, as well as overtime.</li>
<li>Shop responsibilities may include, but not limited to: keeping maintenance shop in a safe, neat and orderly condition; eliminate potential fire hazards as the need arises, maintaining records as to part quantities and keep note of parts’ availabilities due to discontinuation, shortages, or strikes; maintaining records on prices from company-approved vendors as to obtain the best competitive prices on commonly replaced parts; ensuring that the inventory is accurate.</li>
<li>Scheduled through property managers, monitor and work with outside company-approved vendors and coordinate with their schedules.</li>
<li>Meet safety requirements and communicate those requirements to management.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned except for duties that are prohibited by law based on licensure requirements.</li>

*All maintenance staff is required to respond to every phone call during your scheduled on-call shift no matter what time of day the call is received.  Diagnostic Electrician-Crush/Convey Position Requirements&nbsp; &nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program,&nbsp;OR</li>
<li>Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance,&nbsp;OR</li>
<li>Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field&nbsp;and&nbsp;two (2) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance</li>
<li>Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment; this includes the ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair</li>
<li>Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company</li>
<li>Must have minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire date</li>
<li>Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.</li>

<li>Experience working with low and medium voltages</li>
