Responsibilities

Job Summary
The Employee Benefits Specialist supports the administration and ongoing management of comprehensive employee benefits programs. This role assists with benefit plan operations, compliance, vendor coordination, and employee support across a broad range of benefit offerings.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assist in administering employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, flexible spending, dependent care, deferred compensation, COBRA, and related offerings</li>
<li>Ensure benefit programs comply with applicable federal tax laws and state regulations</li>
<li>Support the development, evaluation, and maintenance of benefits and wellness programs to maximize coverage and value</li>
<li>Conduct benefits-related research, surveys, and analysis; recommend program enhancements or modifications as needed</li>
<li>Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors, HR representatives, employees, and retirees regarding benefits inquiries and issue resolution</li>
<li>Prepare and distribute benefits-related correspondence, including rate charts, letters, forms, and enrollment materials</li>
<li>Maintain accurate benefits documentation, schedules, and records for active employees and retirees</li>
<li>Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices impacting employee benefits administration</li>

Qualifications

<li>Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field</li>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience administering employee benefits programs</li>
<li>Strong understanding of laws, rules, and regulations governing employee benefits administration</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment</li>
<li>Public sector benefits administration experience is preferred</li>
