Description:
Licensed midwives in the community birth setting care for clients during the course of prenatal, labor, postpartum, and newborn care. Additionally, midwives provide inclusive well-person care, comprehensive family planning services, support shared decision-making and physiologic birth, and participate in quality assurance functions in accordance with practice policies and accreditation standards as dictated by the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC).
 
The full-time Staff Midwife will have two (2) nine-hour office days that also encompass an 8a-8p call shift and three to four (3-4) additional 12-hour call shifts each week, including rotating weekend call. Although this position involves significant call, the midwife can expect to attend an average of approximately four to six (4-6) eight (8)-hour labors per month.
