Currently, HMS is seeking well qualified candidates for a Full-Time and Part-Time positions as a Hyperbaric Technologist. Below is a description of the position and the required qualifications for consideration. 
Job Description 
Hyperbaric technologists (HBO Tech) have direct interaction with patients and oversee their care process every day. As a result, our HBO Techs are invaluable to creating and maintain a safe and extraordinary experience at Hyperbaric Medical Solutions. HBOT care is daily, so patients develop strong bonds with our staff, especially the HBO Techs - a relationship that is developed through trust and confidence in the expertise of each technologist. HMS is seeking Paramedics, EMTs, experienced Hyperbaric Technologists, and Certified Hyperbaric Technologists (CHT). Experience preferred, but will train non-experienced candidates who demonstrate thoughtful attention to detail, and who take ownership of process and practice operations. Candidate must be willing to work in a collaborative, team environment. This position will work closely with clinical and administrative staff at both this office, as well as at other HMS locations.
Candidate Responsibilities and Expectations:

<li>Prepare for each HBOT session to ensure that each patient has safe and comfortable treatment experience </li>
<li>Reinforce patient education for hyperbaric therapy </li>
<li>Maintain complete and accurate patient treatment documentation </li>
<li>Perform hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance as required, and is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chambers and related support systems </li>
<li>Provide therapy and equipment orientations during new patient consultations </li>
<li>Maintain a clean and presentable work environment </li>
<li>Assist patients with whatever they need, providing high-quality service and ensuring they exceed the patient's expectations </li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Must be New York State certified and/or licensed or hold a diploma from an accredited institution, and have a minimum of six (6) months experience in one of the following vocations: 
<ul>
<li>Paramedic </li>
<li>EMT-I or EMT-B </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Must hold current BLS certification</li>
<li>Current CHT certification preferred - will train the right candidate </li>
<li>English/Spanish speaking and/or English/Mandarin speaking a plus</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work independently within a collaborative care environment </li>
<li>Must show critical thinking, technical, and interpersonal skills, plus be able to interact with patients and their families in a manner that instills confidence and facilitates communication </li>
<li>Flexibility to with work at different locations in the area and have reliable transportation </li>
<li>Available for occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours, if needed (i.e., nights and weekends). </li>

JOB DESCRIPTION for APP
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients with acute and/or chronic discomfort secondary to illness or traumatic injury, within the resources and confines of the on-site clinic. This includes an interview of the patient, reviewing the patient's medical/surgical history, medications/allergies, performing a physical evaluation, and composing a differential diagnosis list with the aim of an eventual diagnosis. All services are practiced within the scope of the APP, and emergent/urgent consultation with the Amphibious Medics medical director is encouraged when necessary. The APP is a construction site medical representative that works independently with limited supervision. This includes, but is not limited to working in a first aid capacity for injured workers, analyzing tasks for potential safety hazards, implementing and participating in a site Health &amp; Wellness program, and participating in the workers compensation process.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
<ul>
<li>Obtains appropriate medical history and physical data on patients. Reviews existing patient records.</li>
<li>Interprets and integrates data.</li>
<li>Performs appropriate level of physical exam and documents findings.</li>
<li>Establishes a Differential Diagnosis list.</li>
<li>Rarely, and in conjunction with a mandatory consultation with the Amphibious Medics medical director, will order off-campus laboratory and diagnostic procedures.</li>
<li>Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.</li>
<li>Administers medication and manages medication as necessary.</li>
<li>Instructs patient and family regarding medications, treatment instructions, and possible outcomes to monitor.</li>
<li>Consult appropriately with the Amphibious Medics medical director.</li>
<li>Ensures the Amphibious Medics medical director is kept informed of any unusual or significant findings concerning their patients.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as may be assigned consistent with professional credentials.</li>
</ul>
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Triages patient phone calls when needed.</li>
<li>Provide triage, first aid and/or a referral to outside medical provider, if indicate</li>
<li>Attends required medical and multidisciplinary meetings and training.</li>
<li>Participates in committees if requested.</li>
<li>Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.</li>
<li>Help coordinate an annual, semi-annual, or quarterly onsite health fair · Participate in frequent medical and safety awareness meetings with construction workers</li>
<li>Maintain on-site inventory supplies, restock and clean equipment used in the treatment of employees</li>
<li>Communicate with outside medical providers on worker’s injury/healing progression and providing direct follow-up care with worker</li>
<li>Maintains patient confidentiality.</li>
<li>Complies with all Clinic policies.</li>
<li>Provide daily activity logs to the safety team and management team · Frequent “site walks” to interact with both workers and managers</li>

REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>The ideal APP candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year experience working in DIRECT patient care.</li>
<li>Additionally, the APP needs to have sound communication skills, and is able to work in a collaborative manner with other team-members.</li>
<li>Must be a licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner</li>
<li>Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 35 lbs.</li>
<li>Ability to walk and/or stand a minimum of five hours in a workday</li>

Shift: 24 hrs. On/ 72 hrs. Off Status: Non-Exempt 
Job Summary: The Paramedic is expected to respond to emergency medical calls and to provide advanced life support to sick/injured persons in pre-hospital settings. Under the direction of Bedford County Emergency Medical Services, the Paramedic will perform duties associated with providing transport services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Bedford County Emergency Medical Services protocols and operational policies. Duties and responsibilities include maintain readiness for emergency response, responding to emergency calls, assessing condition of patients, providing advanced life support at emergency scenes, transporting patients to medical facilities, driving ambulances, operating/utilizing/maintaining medical equipment, and preparing charts and records. 
Equipment: Paramedic will use the following equipment to perform the job: Phones (including portable), Portable Radio, Copier, Computer, Printer, Fax, Automobile, AV Equipment, EMS Training Equipment, and EMS Medical Equipment
Work Environment: Noise levels can be loud and must be able to communicate with background noise; must be able to hear radio calls; this job requires working on rough terrain and in all types of weather. Paramedic will be exposed to patients will moderate to severe illness and injury. Work is performed primarily in an emergency vehicle, hospital, nursing home or assisted living facility.
Physical Demands: This job requires heavy lifting, crawling, kneeling, and walking long distances, may require lifting patients on a stretcher with assistance.
Manual Dexterity: Must have the ability to frequently operate equipment listed above and frequently perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks including data entry and writing. Coordination: Must be able to frequently drive a vehicle, i.e. ambulance. Mobility: Must be able to frequently walk, bend, stoop, sit for long periods of time and occasionally reach with hands/arms and climb stairs. Essential Functions: 
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

<li>Provide emergency care by responding to emergency calls calmly, efficiently, and effectively</li>
<li>Assess the extent of patient's trauma/illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed</li>
<li>Administer advanced life support to patients at the scene, as stated by protocol, en route to the hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and Bedford County Emergency Medical Service standards</li>
<li>Administer accurate dosage of medications appropriately as directed by the medical director </li>
<li>Administer an advanced airway for ventilation </li>
<li>Administer an IV</li>
<li>Communicate with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center or for air transport </li>
<li>Complete patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion</li>
<li>Ensure the vehicles are in good working condition at all times, are properly maintained and stocked, and have all the necessary equipment required </li>
<li>Cleaning, organizing, and restocking vehicles in a "ready" condition after each transport</li>
<li>Handle telephone communications professionally and efficiently with careful regard to patient privacy</li>
<li>Paramedic must perform all job responsibilities in a manner that protects patient privacy</li>
<li>Coordinate requests for non-emergency transports</li>
<li>Monitor communication equipment to maintain contact with the dispatcher</li>

<li>Maintain license by taking necessary Continuing Education Unit courses</li>
<li>Attend yearly driving course</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with fellow Paramedics, EMTs and other responders </li>
<li>Direct work of first responders, EMT trainees, and students if necessary </li>
<li>Ensure safety of all personnel by remaining aware and alert </li>
<li>Coordinate with multiple stakeholders such as citizens, LE, first responders, etc.</li>
<li>Complete daily check-offs of the trucks and report findings</li>
</ul>
